Baba Rampuri, in his introduction to Panini, discusses the biographical aspects at the foundation of the enormous impact the sage Panini has had on both the ancient and modern worlds. He describes Panini’s great text, The Ashtadhyayi, the ancient grammar of the Sanskrit Language, whose logic has been adopted by computer programming languages, and whose discipline guided the ancient vedic sacrifices as well as 2500 years of those who think about speech and consciousness, about the connection. Pāṇini’s grammar exploits a range of brevity-enabling devices to compose what has often been described as the tersest and yet most complete grammar of any language in the world.

Deconstructing Yoga – India Retreat with Baba Rampuri

Our December retreat, “Deconstructing Yoga: Liberating Consciousness,” will take place at my dhuni in Goa from December 18-24. Twice daily, we will perform arati and puja in our small Temple next to the dhuni, with explanation and instruction for participants to do this later in their own homes. On Dattatreya Jayanti, Dec 24, we will have a Homa performed by Brahmin purohits, invoking Guru Dattatreya. I will teach the “protocols of knowledge” as a basis for tradition and sadhana.
