Mahamrityunjaya Mantra

Greatest of healing mantras: Mahamrityunjaya Mantra

Mahamrityunjaya mantra, the “Supreme Death Conquering Mantra” arises out of the Rg Veda, as Mahamrityunjaya is another of Shiva’s many names.

In this video, the Purohits of Sri Mookambika Shakti Pith from Kollur, Karnataka, chant the auspicious mantra for 8 minutes at the dhuni of Baba Rampuri in Goa, as part of a Rudra Yajna on Mahashivaratri, 2020. We made special emphasis on the chanting of this mantra at this time in light of the growing public fear of the pandemic. This mantra is said to not only invoke healing but also to vanquish fear.

You may chant this mantra and/or play this video in your living space to clear your space of all inauspiciousness. One of the mantra’s messages is “Be aware, but have no fear!”

Oṃ tryambakaṃ yajāmahe
sugandhiṃ puṣṭi-vardhanam
urvārukam iva bandhanān
mṛtyor mukṣīya māʼmṛtāt

ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात्॥

OM NAMO NARAYANAYA!!

May you all be well and prosperous!
