Kalyan came with questions about the fire. In this single conversation I open the Havan from the inside: why fire is a doorway, how an offering travels through Agni and his wife Svāhā, why a sudden rain is the surest sign that the gods are pleased, and how a mantra is less a thing to translate than a deity to invoke.
