In my conversation with Alakh Puri for Inflection Point, I spoke about the place from which I see the world: the Naga Babas of Shri Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara. The Akhara is not based on an ideology. It is a kinship, a mirror of the kinship system of India: gurus who are like fathers and mothers, chelas who are like our children, families grouped into the marhis of the Akhara.
The West likes to divide us by ideologies. In the 19th century they imported a three-letter virus into our country, I-S-M. They took the word Hindu, which until then had a geographical meaning, attached an “ism” to it, and it became Hinduism.
